Clyde and Clyde North are young-family suburbs, and the sciatica we see from there tracks that closely. The most common presentation by a distance is a parent in their late twenties to early forties whose leg pain started during or shortly after pregnancy, or built up over months of lifting a toddler in and out of car seats and cots. Pregnancy-related sciatica in particular gets dismissed as something to simply endure until the baby arrives, which is unfortunate, because it is one of the more treatable versions. We're under 10 minutes up Clyde Road.

Lumbar, pelvic and neurological assessment to identify the actual compression point — with particular care taken to separate true nerve-root sciatica from SIJ and pelvic girdle referral, because in this group they present very similarly and respond to different treatment. For pregnant patients we use pregnancy-safe positioning and technique throughout, and treatment is appropriate at any stage. Hands-on work combines joint mobilisation, soft tissue release through the piriformis and deep hip rotators, and neural mobilisation, alongside the practical side: how to lift a child without loading the nerve, and alternating the side you carry on. Acute episodes typically respond well within 4–6 sessions.
