Sports
massage.
Thirty-minute sessions with Peter Toperosa, for tight, overworked muscles from training, sport and work.
What is sports massage?
Sports massage is hands-on soft tissue work aimed at the muscles you use hardest. It uses firmer, more targeted techniques than a relaxation massage, such as deep tissue work, and concentrates on the areas that feel tight, sore or overworked.
Who it's for
- People who lift, run, play team sport or train in martial arts
- Tight shoulders, neck or back from long days at a desk or on the tools
- Between training blocks, or around a game or event
- Anyone whose injury has been diagnosed and who wants regular soft tissue work alongside their plan
What happens in a session
Tell Peter where you're tight, what training or work you've been doing, and anything that has flared up recently. He'll spend the session on those areas, using deep tissue and sports massage techniques. Sessions are 30 minutes and cost $75.
Sports massage or osteopathy?
Sports massage is for muscles that are tight, sore or overworked. If you have pain you can't explain, pain that keeps coming back, pins and needles or numbness, or an injury that isn't settling, start with osteopathy with Steven Eskaf, who can assess and diagnose the problem. Many people use both: osteopathy to sort out the problem, sports massage to keep on top of tight muscles.
