Muscle injuries heal faster with the right approach — not just rest.
Last reviewed: May 2025
Muscle strains and tears are among the most common sports and lifestyle injuries. The grading of the injury and the quality of early management determine how quickly — and how completely — you recover.
Common causes
Hamstring strain
The most common muscle tear in sport. Requires graded loading — not just rest — to rebuild tensile strength and prevent re-tear.
Calf strain
Sudden sharp pain in the calf from sprinting, jumping, or change of direction. Proper rehabilitation reduces the risk of chronic issues.
Hip flexor strain
Overload or sudden stretch injury to the iliopsoas or rectus femoris. Common in kicking sports and sprinters.
Chronic muscular pain
Persistent muscular tension and trigger points from overuse, poor mechanics, or stress. Responds well to soft tissue treatment and retraining.
How we treat it
Acute management, graded loading protocols, soft tissue work, and strength programming specific to the injured muscle and sport or activity. We guide return-to-sport with milestone-based criteria.

Common questions
FAQ: muscular pain, strains & tears
Should I stretch a muscle strain?
Not in the acute phase. Gentle movement is fine; aggressive stretching of an acute tear delays healing.
How long does a hamstring strain take?
Grade 1: 1–2 weeks. Grade 2: 4–8 weeks. Grade 3: 8–16 weeks with proper rehab. Re-injury risk drops significantly with structured loading.
Can I exercise around a muscle tear?
Yes. We identify pain-free movement and keep you training during recovery — critical for maintaining fitness and muscle health.
